11:22 AM EDT, 06/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were advancing on Thursday morning, up 0.7% to 1,476.59 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by healthcare company Grifols (GRFS) and financial services provider Banco Santander (SAN), which rose 3.2% and 1.9% respectively.
They were followed by steel manufacturer ArcelorMittal (MT), which added 1.7%, and semiconductor company ASML (ASML), which increased 1.5%.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by biotech company Evaxion (EVAX) and cybersecurity firm Wisekey (WKEY), which fell 4.3% and 2.2% respectively.
They were followed by advertising company Criteo (CRTO), down 2%.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and cigarette manufacturer British American Tobacco (BTI), which rose 3.6% and 2.6% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Centessa Pharmaceuticals (CNTA) and beverage giant Diageo (DEO), which lost 7.8% and 3.9% respectively.
